Bio

Elizabeta Brooke was born and raised on the hot, dry western coast of Australia where deserts are punctuated by acres of wildflowers and the ocean lures you into its warm, moist depths on a scorching day. She is a closet sensualist with a deep appreciation of all things luscious: warm fresh strawberries that drip juice, the mush of avocado against the tongue, the salty taste of skin warmed by the sun, the sound of a lover’s heartbeat.  Her favourite author is Anais Nin, and her favourite Nin quote is unrepentantly politically incorrect:

“I do not want to be the leader. I refuse to be the leader. I want to live darkly and richly in my femaleness. I want a man lying over me, always over me. His will, his pleasure, his desire, his life, his work, his sexuality the touchstone, the command, my pivot. I don’t mind working, holding my ground intellectually, artistically; but as a woman, oh, God, as a woman I want to be dominated. I don’t mind being told to stand on my own feet, not to cling, be all that I am capable of doing, but I am going to be pursued, taken, possessed by the will of a male at his time, his bidding.”

She also has a literary crush on Edgar Allan Poe and loves to fantasize that she’s Poe and Nin’s love child…

Damn shame that quote is over 140 characters, It needs to be plastered somewhere the whole world can see it.

  2. Good idea CC. I’ll tweet it in increments!
